    Dementia

Dementia is an umbrella term for a range of neurological conditions that impair memory, thinking, and daily functioning. It affects not only the individual but also their families and caregivers. Dementia care involves early diagnosis, tailored treatment plans, and ongoing support to enhance the quality of life for individuals living with dementia.

    Types of Dementia

    1. Alzheimer’s Disease: The most common form of dementia, characterized by memory loss, confusion, and difficulty with language and decision-making.
    2. Vascular Dementia: Caused by reduced blood flow to the brain, often after a stroke or series of small strokes, leading to cognitive decline and memory issues.
    3. Lewy Body Dementia: A type of dementia that includes symptoms like visual hallucinations, sleep disturbances, and movement difficulties, similar to Parkinson’s disease.
    4. Frontotemporal Dementia: A rare form of dementia that affects the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain, leading to personality changes, impulsive behavior, and language problems.
    5. Mixed Dementia: A condition where two or more types of dementia, such as Alzheimer’s and vascular dementia, occur simultaneously.
